US Treasury bond markets were affected and the rate has now risen to 5% on a 30-year note. Massie said that repealing Green New Deal funding could have provided a substantial savings, but it won't be done until Trump is out of office, leaving time to undo it. He said that the Democrats don't even need to win the next two elections to undo it because an army of lobbyists will pressure congress, and a few Republicans will cave in. 
He emphaasized that phone calls from constituents matter to Congresssmen.

Massie explained that recissions can be used to undo spending commitments that were passed in the recent continuing resolution bill with 51 votes in the Senate. However, he said that House Speaker Mike Johnson may be blocking the request for recissions from the White House. 

Trump criticized Representative Thomas Massie for opposing the Republican 'big, beautiful bill' and said that Massie did not understand government. Massie shot back that he does understand math.

Trump is making moves to primary Massie out of office.
