InfoWars host quits after he says Alex Jones told him he was 'too anti-Trump'

The 36-year-old, who hosted the "War Room" show for InfoWars, told his viewers on Monday that he was making a "shocking announcement."

"I am done at InfoWars," Shroyer said. "This may come as a shocking announcement for you tonight. It may not."

Shroyer apologized "that it had to end so abruptly if you want to say that."

"But about an hour ago, I got off the phone with Alex, and that was it," he said. "That was it. So, I owe it to you, the audience, to explain what went wrong and why I decided to leave and how that went down. Just to be perfectly clear, this is not how I wanted it to be.

"I tried everything, I tried everything so that it wouldn't go this way," he continued.

Shroyer said he walked off of his show on Thursday mid-show.

"Alex was disrupting the show," Shroyer said. "And he wanted me to cover something, and he wanted to get a guest on. I'm in the middle of a show while it is going on as you see so many times, and it just didn't go well. I kind of just reached my point of no return, so I just kind of walked off the studio. Now, I will say, it was a little upsetting to me that he went on and said I had a family emergency. I did not have a family emergency. I didn't appreciate people reaching out to me thinking that something bad had happened, including my own parents."

Shroyer said he had never walked off a show before.

"But I felt powerless in that moment," he said. "The only power I had was to walk off."

Shroyer said his intention was to go back this week, and he made the clear to Jones.

"I wanted to finish this week," Shroyer said. "And I wanted to finish positively at InfoWars."

But Shroyer said that Jones told him "he didn't need me and good luck."

Shroyer said that his followers probably noticed he had not been hosting his "War Room" show a lot this month.

"Alex had been coming into my show and talking about how I'm negative and calling me a pessimist and all this other stuff, which is fine," he said. "If you work for Alex, you are going to get hit with it a lot. Alex is not easy to work for, and that is fine. That's OK. But OK, he says I'm too negative, he says I'm a pessimist, I'm too anti-Trump, so I just said, 'Alright, you know what, I'll just take some time off. I'll just disappear, and if Alex thinks I'm too negative, maybe he's right.'"
