Mortars allegedly fired from Afghanistan on Thursday have killed eight people in northwestern Pakistan, Pakistani officials say.
The mortars hit a house in Tity Mada Khel village in the North Waziristan tribal area, two intelligence officials said. The dead included five men and three women, they said.
Two other intelligence officials said 11 people were wounded in the attack.
It's not immediately clear who fired the mortars, and the officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they aren't authorized to talk to the media.
North Waziristan is dominated by militants who often launch attacks against foreign troops in Afghanistan.
