American chest thumpers start with the correct assessment that the top leaders of Iran are a bunch of dangerous religious nut jobs.  Then, with their great knowledge of history, cultures, and geography, they leap to the conclusion that we should help Israel conquer Iran, which should be easy to do given that it is a backwards, uncivilized wasteland of desert, camels, and women covered in black from head to toe.  Heck, several Air Force squadrons and a couple of Army divisions should do it.   As easy as Iraq. 

Although highly selective, the photos of Iran below make the point--the opposite point.   Three Iranian movies that I've watched also make the opposite point.  The country's movie industry is very good and has enough freedom to make films critical of the country.  And a very popular Iranian TV series was sympathetic to the plight of Jews under the Nazis and dramatized how Iranians helped them.  Propaganda?  Maybe.  But it makes one think, assuming that one is capable of thinking with the racket from all the chest thumping.
