Light's Repulsive Force Discovered
07-13-2009  •  LiveScience

A newly discovered repulsive aspect to light could one day control telecommunications devices with greater speed and less power.

The discovery was made by splitting infrared light into two beams that each travel on a different length of silicon nanowire, called a waveguide. The two light beams became out of phase with one another, creating a push, or repulsive force, with an intensity that can be controlled; the more out of phase the two light beams, the stronger the force.

H1N1 Flu Resembles 1918 Flu
07-14-2009  •  Buffalohair
Yoshihiro Kawaoka of the University of Wisconsin and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lead a team of researchers in studying the *h1n1 flu and made a startling discovery. The h1n1 Swine Flu resembles the infamous 1918 Flu that killed approximately 100 million people. Unlike the common flu strains that settle in the nose and throat this virus attaches itself deep within the lungs causing pneumonia. Now the **World Health Organization calls this strain unstoppable. Interestingly enough 9 out of 10 obese people who were hospitalized for the h1n1 flu appear to be more susceptible to this strain. It was noted they suffered gastrointestinal complications, blood clots in the lungs and multiple organ failure. Since this virus is in a constant state of flux people will have the opportunity to re-catch this strain as it morphs its way into history. Unlike the 1918 pandemic this new strain has the all the conveniences of the 21st century to assist it in its travel aroun  Read Full Story

A force of one: the Federal Reserve By Chuck Norris, cnorris@wnd.com I agree with Judge Andrew Napolitano, who said last week, "We know more about the CIA than we do about the Federal Reserve." The Federal Reserve is the Freemasonry of government agencies. It is a virtual secret society unto themselves " a group of unelected brokers who hold the value of our dollar in the palms of their hands. This one agency, with its power to raise and lower interest rates, has exercised more control over the economy than other government body.  Read Full Story

The Men Who Destroyed the Constitution
07-13-2009  •  http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com
In his 1850 Disquisition on Government, John C. Calhoun argued that a written constitution would never be sufficient to contain the plundering proclivities of a central government. Some mechanisms for assuring consensus among the citizens of the states regarding “federal” laws would be necessary. Consequently, Calhoun proposed giving citizens of the states veto power over federal laws that they believed were unconstitutional (the “concurrent majority”). He also championed the Jeffersonian idea of nullification. To Calhoun (and Jefferson), states’ rights meant that the citizens of the states were sovereign over the central government that they created as their agent, and could only be so if such mechanisms " including the right of secession " existed.

Without these political mechanisms the forces of nationalism, mercantilism, and political plunder would relentlessly reshape the Constitution with their rhetoric, and their efforts would eventually overwhelm the st

Mommy what's a Quadrillion Dollars?
07-13-2009  •  korpisworld.blogspot.com
It looks like one can make an honest living out of frivolous lawsuits.

Last Wednesday, an article was published revealing that our Federal government was hit with 489,000 lawsuits stemming from the 2005 Katrina disaster totaling $3,014,170,389,176,41. That's 3 + QUADRILLION dollars. Being a math teacher, I occasionally come across very large numbers (not when counting my paycheck), but even I had forgotten what comes after a billion. Because of this beyond-astronomical number, I will not likely soon forget that it is quadrillion.

After my initial shock at such an unfathomably huge dollar amount that was, I did the math to find the AVERAGE amount of each lawsuit, hoping this would bring the number into the realm of reasonableness--it didn't. With 489,000 claims, that comes out to a staggering 6,163,947,626 per person. THAT'S 6.1 BILLION DOLLARS EACH FOR ALMOST HALF A MILLION PEOPLE!!!!! That's equivalent to EVERYONE in Atlanta, Georgia

Fed Independence or Fed Secrecy? - by Ron Paul

Claims are made that auditing the Fed would compromise its independence.  However, by independence, they really mean secrecy.  The Fed clearly cherishes its vast power to create and spend trillions of dollars, diluting the value of every other dollar in circulation, making deals with other central banks, and bailing out cronies, all to the detriment of the taxpayer, and to the enrichment of themselves.  I am happy to challenge this type of “independence”.
