YIKES! Photocopiers these days are digital

Written by Subject: Privacy Rights
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the good, old-fashioned copy machine. But, as Armen Keteyian reports, advanced technology has opened a dangerous hole in data security.

Photocopiers store your scanned copies on a hard drive, then these copiers  produce copies -- without erasing the original digital files! Your tax returns, medical papers, business secrets, you name it, reside in these machines. Old copiers are sold, with their hard drives intact, all over the world. In an incredible threat to your security and privacy, this will shake you to the BONE!

3 copiers are purchased randomly one comes from the police department, one from a construction company, and the final one from a medial insurance company.  ALL the names, numbers, social security company, building blueprints and medical conditions are download using free software from the internet!

Many of these copiers are then sold to foreign countries!

They also microembed serial numbers in your printing.  So dont even think about copying money.  Or at least dont get suprised when you get caught.

Once copiers are connected to the net they also transmit  (or allow access to) those harddrives remotely.
