NYT Rage Over Trump's Remarks About Putin

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The Times is an embarrassment to journalism the way it's supposed to be - featuring disinformation, Big Lies and fake news, especially on war and peace, Russia and Trump.

The self-styled newspaper of record went ballistic over suggesting he believes Putin's denial of Russian US election meddling is genuine.

"I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it," said Trump. The Times called taking him at his word "almost treasonous," a disgraceful remark even for the deplorable Times.

It's notorious for being a longstanding press agent for wealth, power and privilege, pretending otherwise.

The Times: "Consider the strategic and historical magnitude of what 'President' Donald Trump said last week (note the quotes to gratuitously denigrate him)."

"He said that he believed the intelligence conclusions of a nation hostile to this country - Russia - over the intelligence conclusions drawn by American agencies."

"It is a striking declaration, a betrayal of American trust and interests…"

FALSE! Putin was truthful. No Russian meddling occurred. No evidence proves otherwise. America's intelligence community concocted the dirty scheme to delegitimize Trump and demonize Russia.

Media scoundrels like the Times support the diabolical plot - more evidence discrediting their legitimacy as reliable sources of news, information and analysis.

The Times: "Trump was grasping at straws and throwing all of them into the air. Believe Putin. Care about his feelings."

"Blame domestic enemies. Undercut the investigation. Use helpless Syrians as a shield. Continue reading the main story.

It was gross and classic Trumpian deflection…"

The above comments are utter rubbish. No responsible editors would touch them. Times editors feature them and a whole lot more like them.

The Times: "Trump's personal paranoia impedes our national policy and our national interests. The uncomfortable fact here is that Trump is pursuing his own interest, not American interests."

"And, on the question of Russia attacking our elections, Trump and Putin's interest align against the facts and against America."

There's plenty about Trump to criticize. The Times prefers ad hominem attacks. It should support strong US/Russia relations in the interest of world peace and stability.

Instead, it goes the other way, supporting hostile relations, risking eventual nuclear war, shaming itself, on the wrong side of vital issues, especially geopolitical ones, cheerleading America's imperial agenda, its war on humanity.

The Times: "Trump is betraying this country by trying to curry favor with his new comrade."

FALSE!!

The Times: "They both have an interest in casting doubt on whether Russia attacked our elections. Putin wants to be seen as innocent and Trump wants to be seen as legitimate, and neither is completely true."

"Russia attacked our elections. They stole emails that were published and broadcast ad nauseam. They created and distributed propaganda on social media designed to exacerbate our divisions, content that was seen by nearly half the country."

FALSE ON ALL COUNTS! No Russian meddling occurred. No emails stolen - leaked ones by a DNC insider published by WikiLeaks, the truth the Times won't tell.

No anti-US Russian propaganda was distributed online or any other way, nothing sowing discord in America.

The Times: "Russia attacked our elections when he was elected, and they must pay for their crime so that this never happens again."

Is this remark advocacy for war? Is the Times part of the nation's lunatic fringe, a closet neocon publication?

The Times: "Trump won't acknowledge the crime because Trump was the beneficiary of the crime."

"Trump won't insult Russia because it may well be that he was installed by Russia. Trump is as much a Russian project as an American president…Trump is Putin's dupe."

These disgraceful remarks speak for themselves - anti-journalism, not the real thing, comments typical of Joseph Goebbels, master of Big Lies.
