The NYT Supports US Naked Aggression

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Like other media scoundrels, the Times notoriously cheerleads US wars, naked aggression in all cases post-WW II - nations threatening no one raped and destroyed, appalling human carnage and mass destruction committed, accountability for high crimes never forthcoming.

Commenting on war in Syria, the Times ignored US aggression, its use of ISIS and other terrorist groups as imperial foot soldiers.

Allied with Russia, Hezbollah and Iran, Assad is courageously combatting US-supported terrorists - cutthroat killer invaders, recruited from scores of countries.

The Times disgracefully called him "vicious," turned truth on its head, saying he "unleash(ed) a new round of carnage on civilians…"

Supplied with heavy weapons by Washington, NATO, Israel, and their imperial allies, US-supported terrorists are fully responsible for shelling Eastern Ghouta residential areas, massacring civilians.

Not according to the Times, falsely blaming freedom-fighting Syrian, Russian and allied forces for high crimes committed by al-Nusra and other US-supported terrorists.

The self-styled newspaper of record turned truth on its head, saying "airstrikes on residential areas" caused civilian deaths. Ground shelling is responsible.

The Times: "Photos posted on social media are excruciating. Terrified children, faces and bodies covered in blood. Shrouded corpses lined up on dirty concrete floors."

"Wounded patients on gurneys writhing in agony, lacking medical attention or even drugs to ease their pain" - the Times failing to lay blame where it belongs, disgracefully blaming Russia and Syria.

The broadsheet won't ever demand US and allied war criminals be held accountable for Nuremberg-level crimes - instead called for "build(ing) a legal case (against) Assad," a despicable request.

It repeated the long ago discredited canard about Assad using chemical weapons. It disgracefully bashed Russia, saying it "bears special responsibility because it guaranteed Mr. Assad would give up his chemical weapons…which the Syrian leader obviously did not do" - a malicious Big Lie.

The Times: "The United Nations Security Council has been particularly impotent at ending the killing…"

US veto power and contempt for conflict resolution bear full responsibility, the broadsheet never explains - instead blaming Russia and Syria for lawless US actions.

The Times quoted UNICEF on Syria, saying "(n)o words will do justice to the children killed, their mothers, their fathers and their loved ones."

The organization stopped of laying blame where it belongs. The Times is guilty of blaming other countries for US high crimes - backing them through silence and support for its destructive imperial agenda.

The self-styled newspaper of record is a national disgrace!
