The Trial of Paul Manafort

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Lobbyist, political strategist, financial dealmaker Manafort served as Trump's presidential campaign chairman from June to August 2016.

He co-founded the DC-based Black, Manafort & Stone lobbying firm, earlier served as a political advisor to former notable GOP officials.

He lobbied on behalf of foreign leaders, reportedly not registering with the Justice Department as required under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

Nor has AIPAC since its 1953 founding, America's leading foreign agent scofflaw - supported by all US administrations and the vast majority of congressional members, despite operating illegally from inception.

The same goes for other Zionist organizations in America, serving Israeli interests, buying and selling influence on behalf of the Jewish state.

Manafort faces multiple charges, including a conspiracy against the US, money laundering, failing to report foreign bank accounts, acting as an unregistered foreign agent, making false and misleading statements related to FARA, along with other false statements - nothing relating to Russia or the 2016 presidential campaign.

He lobbied for Ukraine from 2006 - 2016 unregistered as required by FARA. Yet no accusations of wrongdoing were levied until over a year after Russiagate surfaced.

Guilt or innocence isn't the issue in his case. Washington is a cesspool of corruption and other high crimes. Wall Street is notorious for grand theft. Other corporate predators operate the same way.

In rare cases when accountability is forthcoming, nearly always it's little more than slap on the wrist punishment.

So why try throwing the book at Manafort and not others in America operating the same way. It's all about pressuring him to provide damaging information against Trump related to alleged Russian collusion with his campaign - despite nothing suggesting there was any.

Undemocratic Dems and other US Russophobes oppose Trump for wanting improved relations with Moscow. They want adversarial relations maintained unchanged.

Special counsel Mueller's witch-hunt investigations, indictments and prosecutions are all about delegitimizing Trump and Russia bashing.

After well over a year, he failed to find any evidence of Trump team collusion with Moscow or Kremlin US election meddling.

He revealed nothing but more about Washington's dark side, its diabolical agenda, its anti-Russia hysteria - what Russiagate is all about.

It's a national disgrace, McCarthyism on steroids against an elected president for wanting improved relations with the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin personally.

No Russian meddling in America's electoral process occurred. No evidence suggests otherwise. If accusations were true, cold hard facts would have been revealed long ago instead of baseless claims with nothing backing them.

The official narrative about so-called Russian meddling is a bald-faced lie.

On August 1, Trump tweeted: "…Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!"

Most often he's wrong - not on this issue. Mueller never should have been appointed special counsel.

His witch-hunt probe lacks legitimacy. His conflicts of interest should have disqualified him, including his close ties to fired FBI director James Comey.

He sought reappointment as agency head after serving in the post for over a decade under Bush/Cheney and Obama. Reportedly he interviewed for the job the day before being appointed special counsel.

A special one should be appointed to probe his dubious practices. Former FBI special agent/whistleblower Coleen Rowley blasted his appointment, explaining his longstanding deep state ties. He's not someone of impeccable character as falsely claimed - far from it.

He was part of the false flag 9/11 coverup. In the run-up to Bush/Cheney's 2003 war on Iraq based on Big Lies, Mueller supported naked aggression on the country.

As FBI director from 2001 - 2013, he enforced post-9/11 police state harshness, presided over persecution of Muslims in America, the 2001 anthrax deception, and other disturbing activities - crimes gone unpunished.

Rowley called him and likeminded US officials "sycophants to power," complicit "in numerous wrongful abuses of power…"

He proved it repeatedly as FBI director and special counsel, serving dark forces in America, wanting Trump delegitimized and ousted for supporting improved relations with Russia.

That's what the endless Russiagate witch-hunt probe is all about - one of the most shameful episodes in US domestic history.
