I did some checking. Pretty much this guy was arrested for being Iranian. He landed on some FBI thugs list. He fit someone's profile. Muslim, check. Frequent traveler to Saudi Arabia, check. Frequent traveler to Iran, check. Runs a local mosque or heavily involved on a local mosque within the USA, check. Yup, this guy is a terrorist I can smell it.' So they looked. Not finding anything, they create crap. It is what they do when they know you are guilty, but only uncover exoneration. We can't admit to have wasted our time and the taxpayer's money on a innocent man on our annual 'promote me' report. 'So, you didn't pay your taxes.' 'You were a (low ranking) member of Iran's military and failed to report it.' Crap charges that shouldn't even be illegal. Already served over a year in prison for crap charges that wouldn't even merit that time. Because having failed to find any actual evidence of his terrorism -- 'this guy is good' -- they work to imprison, impoverish, strip of his US citizenship and deport him. 'Whatever happened to the good old days when we could have tossed his gurney bound and hooded body int a windows closed Gulfstream for a (short) lifelong interrogation session in Jordan or Syria followed by a confession and a cleanup of this whole messy business?'
