What color sheet is that multicultural boogeyman, I'll bet it's white :)

Multiculturalism is an opportunity for the U.S., not a problem or danger. Spanish is here to stay, as is English, and there's much worth preserving about the U.S., but racism and Anglophile B.S. aren't among them. Is the U.S. Constitution big enough to absorb Mexico? I know it is. All we have to do is extend an official invitation via the U.S. Congress to the people of Mexico to dissolve their cruddy corrupt Mexican govt. and form new U.S. states and draft new constitutions, and I know they will be accepted. It can all done in 5 years under the Obama admin., after which the U.S. will become a model for the region and the world. Google "Megamerge Dissolution Solution" to read more about the new paradigm for U.S.-Mexico relations.

"Unlike the docile native Americans"? Docile? We fought like hell with everything we had. To juxtopose us with muslims who utilize modern weapons is absurd. If we'd had nukes we'd damn sure have used them.

But as it is, both North American and Hawai'i were taken by military conquest. Whatever supposition that this was "God's will", it's not unique among conquerors. It's always God's will or destiny (or Manifest Destiny) that's used to justify the invasion. Not that this was strictly necessary as right of conquest was acceptable law in Europe at the time and natives weren't considered to be human beings at the time anyways.

However, Europeans had a very nice, racially homogenous society in Europe. I guess it sucked so bad they braved disease, starvation and attacks from us savages to get away from it.

Now I will concede that I do see La Raza and La Reconquista as looming problems for contemporary American culture. And I'll certainly back up the observation of "American indolence". After all, not only do Americans seem unable to respond to bogus amnesty bills, they don't respond when "da man" takes food right out of their mouths.

But as far as America loosing the battle to remain white, I just can't get myself too worked up about it. "And so it goes" is my feeling. The right of conquest was never renounced by the USA so this leaves another one by someone else to be just as legitimate. Whether this is accomplished through force of arms or a slow, insideous process aided and abetted by collaborators in our own midst is purely a question of method, not of intent or objective. Obviously.

Finally, I'd point out what should be obvious: to speak of Native Americans and Mexicans in one piece as though they are distinct is a fallacy. Know why "Mexicans" have brown skin, squat bodies and acquiline noses? BECAUSE THEY ARE NATIVE AMERICANS.

Yeah, silly us, it didn't occur to us that a contiguous land mass had inherant political boundaries. But even in the warped and twisted words of the Wasichu, you call them NORTH, SOUTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA. THEREFORE, INDIGENOUS PEOPLES TO THESE LANDS WOULD BE CALLED.......

Native Americans.

Frosty, the issues you raise regarding population, environmental degredation and food production are real and they need consideration. I'm just really starting to question your philosophical underpinnings.
