Like most big businesses, BP is heavily involved in corporate fascism.  However, like T. Boone Pickens, I take many of Matt Simmons's pronouncements with a grain of salt.  Like Pickens, Simmons has a "plan" that involves government subsidies to promote a technology from which he will benefit; in Simmons's case, it is deep water windmills.  In an interview on the Financial Sense Newshour, Simmons once commented on how capital markets are "capricious" and that far from being beneficial, Adam Smith's invisible hand was strangling us.  Again, I'm not apologizing for BP, nor am I saying that Simmons's observations are incorrect, but we should recognize that Simmons is not an impartial party.

Glen, it`s perfectly OK to cast doubt on baseless speculation (which might even happen to be true...that`s not my point) without having to worry about being pro-BP. Some of the crap that the folks from Helium and Godlikeproductions is so unscientific that it almost boggles the mind. It`s OK to call them out. It does NOT mean we underestimate the colossal magnitude of the disaster. It does NOT mean we don`t regard it as possible false flag, especially given the insider trading right before it happened. It does NOT mean we are unaware of the deep politics involved. It just means that we are NOT stupid sheep that will latch on to the latest hyperbole.
