Los Angeles votes to end corporate personhood
• RawstoryThe Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to support a resolution calling for a constitutional amendment that would assert that corporations are not entitled to constitutional rights, and that money is not the same as free speech.
What is interesting is that it is this same corporate personhood that is saving thousands of Americans from over-taxation by Big Gov. Such an amendment would change the whole set of rules by which people in business operate. It might release untold funds to the taxing authorities at the same time it is protecting individuals from big corporations.
Remember. Any time a corporation pays taxes, the people foot the bill through increased prices. So, we need to think this thing out thoroughly before we act.
The biggest advantage that such an amendment might have (if done properly), is to take away some of the sovereignty of the corporation known as Big Government.
