Exactly how the Feds could impose a requirement on the states to require background checks by individuals engaging in a sale of firearms within state borders is beyond me.  It seems that this exceeds their constitutional authority and is ripe for a Supreme Court ruling.

Under what Constitutional authority does the U.S. Government claim in its efforts to impose background checks on instate private purchases of State-native arms?
