Mayor Bloomberg: "telecommuting is one of the dumber ideas I've ever heard"
• Daily Paul.comMayor Bloomberg, a billionaire former CEO, said on his weekly radio show Friday that he agrees with Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer that working from home is not productive.
What nonsense. All Bloomberg cares about are the taxes and incoming money from commuters who use mass transit or park, eat in town, and hang out after work.
I work at home, I'm one of the most productive people on my team. People like Marissa Mayer simply don't trust their workers to be good. If you're not in the office, she must presume you're napping 8 hours a day or slacking off. I find I get more done because my coworkers aren't hanging around my desk, distracting me from my job. I can do what I need to do with minimal interference. Honestly, some of these people need to think before they speak.
