Is George Zimmerman guilty of murder? I don't know. What I do know is that there is not enough evidence to convict him. That’s what happened here. Not enough evidence. That’s it. The prosecution could not beyond a reasonable doubt provide enough evidence of his guilt. It has nothing to do with racism or Jim Crow justice. It is a lack of evidence. No video, no eye witness, just his word against a dead man. You may think he is guilty, and he might be, but there is simply no way to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

Not enough evidence for a conviction seems to be the truth here. But a conviction of what? Definitely there was a killing. And definitely Zimmerman killed Martin, even though it may not have been premeditated, even though it may not have been intentional, even though it may have been justified as self-defense. We just don't know what the truth is, and we may never.

In Old Testament Israel, they had a solution for this. What do you do when there is a killing, but nobody can prove that it was murder? There were 6 cities in ancient Israel that were set aside for the killer to be a prisoner therein. And as a prisoner in one of these cities, he was allowed all the freedoms of every other citizen of Israel, as long as he exercised them within the walls of that city. The day he went outside the walls of the city was the day he could be set for execution, if he was caught outside the city walls.

If we were smart, we would do something like this, both to keep from executing an unjust judgment against a killer who is NOT proven to be a murderer, but also to protect all the rest of us if he is indeed a murderer.

 Lendman is an idiot. I understand exactly what happened on that evening because I live in the same kind of neighborhood. Go live in a Black neighborhood for a couple years and then come and shoot your mouth off.
