This gadget lacks a counterlung, tanks and regulators. Even if it had "artificial gills" to scrub carbon dioxide and to replenish oxygen, it would also need those components to become a viable SCUBA. Remember the cool mini-rebreather 007 had in the movie Thunderball ? Nice movie prop, but woudn't work in the real world.
