Personally, I don't believe that the Israel at the East end of the Mediterranean Sea is the Israel of God. It's a politically made country, there to get the people of the US to focus on Israel. It isn't Ancient Israel, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. Why not? Because Israel now includes all believers in Jesus. Ancient Israel was there to foretell Jesus. The simple godly people of today's Israel don't believe in Jesus, even though they might confess the Old Testament Messiah. Because of this double-thinking, they are like the people of Laodicea - lukewarm - in Revelation 3:14-18. However, who knows what God will really do with His land where He said that He would place His Name forever.
