Ed and Elaine Brown, now under fire

I just spoke with Ed. He said that one of his guests was out walking the dog and was forced to run back to the house under gunfire. According to Ed, two shot were fired at his retreating, unarmed guest, the bullets coming close to his head.

County Sheriff at 603-863-4200.

I called seeking a media relations officer and was told that there was none. I asked the desk officer some questions. Bottom Line: The US Marshals and Treasury have been given the green light to do whatever they want and the Sheriff's Department has washed their hands of the matter. Expect something to happen soon and the local law enforcement will direct traffic for it.

Being as I was raised in New Hampshire, The Brown's story caught my eye. When I heard they were under fire, I called the sheriff and asked about it. He said that there were no gunshots, but that the dog-walking did occur and that the Feds (of all varieties) had retreated to Concord, NH and had cleared the area.

I asked for assurance that the sheriff's department would protect the Browns and hold the Feds to the same standard of anyone else. He said they would do all they constitutionally could. He actually convinced me that is the case. I recommended that he constitutionally order the Feds out for good. They are weighing their options.

Who knows what will happen?
