Oh boy, did I ever comment. I hope he gets inundated. Thought I would share what I emailed to him:

Dear Illinois State Senator Dan Rutherford:

On your website, you asked people to send you quotes by Ronald Reagan: Here is a direct quote:

"Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country." (Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyXW1hb-JQg - complete with photos.

Sir, if you are as you claim to be a big Ronald Reagan supporter, how on earth do you justify standing on someone's Ron Paul sign during the recent Illinois Straw Poll, as caught on video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kU8ZbMYgyc ? What part of "free speech" don't you understand and what part of "personal property" don't you understand?

I went to your web page out of curiosity to find out what kind of an American has such a disdain for free speech and does not respect personal property, and was rather surprised that you claim to be a Reaganite. What would Mr. Romney think of the tactics of his Illinois campaign chairman and head of the Illinois GOP?

Perhaps instead, you would want to quote Ronald Reagan here: (Taken from a Ron Paul speech on the congressional floor:) "We should heed the words of Ronald Reagan about his experience with a needless and mistaken military occupation of Lebanon. Sending troops into Lebanon seemed like a good idea in 1983, but in 1990 President Reagan said this in his memoirs: "…we did not appreciate fully enough the depth of the hatred and complexity of the problems that made the Middle East such a jungle… In the weeks immediately after the bombing, I believed the last thing we should do was turn tail and leave… yet, the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics forced us to rethink our policy there." But that goes against the grain of all of the candidates running in this election - all except one, of course. The only one who President Reagan praised as an "outstanding leader."

I DARE you to print either of the above quotes on your Daily Diary.
