Obama to establish fiscal commission

US President Barack Obama will Thursday sign an executive order establishing a bipartisan commission to find ways to reduce the gaping US budget deficit, a White House official said. ....

The congressionally-appointed commission would have had more teeth and the power to force lawmakers to vote on its recommendations.

“Yesterday, the Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I will issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward, because I refuse to pass this problem on to another generation of Americans,” - Obama 1/27/10

I don't see what the big deal is... article 2 section 5 CLEARLY gives the presidents power to do anything they want... oh wait.
