Fighter Jet crash in Canada caught on camera. 2010 07 23.

The pilot,Capt.Brian Bews,of this fighter was able to eject moments before the plane crashed in Lethbridge,Canada.He was brought to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Wish I could see more footage but it looks like the guy took minimal control to bury the bird in the field away from spectators and ejected at the moment he was sure of trajectory and had his last chance to bail up. Incredible, his chute was fully deployed and bearing weight before he hit ground, it's not what you want to see but what a heck of a demonstration. If I was on the ejection system engineering team I'd be high-fiving right now. Especially in the pic you put up, Powell. Look at that thing! The chute is opening due to THE PILOT'S FORWARD MOMENTUM at this point and we see the eject seat falling away like ducks in a row. Pilot's weight has just enough time to swing back and fill the chute, it's corners flare and BAM. He lived. Wow. You can't get that installed in a Prius.

Incredible pilot. Man what instincts. That's just what I judge from what I see.
