Defense Secretary
Robert M. Gates
said Monday that the Pentagon will cut thousands of jobs, including a
substantial chunk of its private contractors and a major military
command based in Norfolk, as part of an ongoing effort to streamline
its operations and to stave off political pressure to slash defense
spending in the years ahead.

Remember, folks, what the government says and what the government does are two different things. However, I am tend to incline that they will cut thousands of jobs and NO! they won't be cutting the fat off the pork: the contractors, the warmongering, the billions of tax dollars and free weaponry to Israel but they will lay off thousands of folks who make 15 bucks an hour. That they will do and they'll do it well and expeditiously.
