This was one of the glaring inconsistencies in the story as it evolved.   But the bottom line is the medical examiner (ME)--who did not impress me at all--declared that ALL deceased persons were exclusively wounded by .223 bullets. That Bushmaster was the only weapon announced at the scene that could deliver that caliber of bullet. So either the reporters were wrong, the ME is lying or someone else mowed down those people and then killed the "shooter."
