Justice Department places a 'hold' on George Zimmerman's gun

The U.S. Department of Justice, overseen by Attorney General Eric Holder, has ordered the Sanford, Florida police department to keep possession of all the evidence from George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial - including the exonerated neighborhood watch volunteer's gun.

And the so-called double-jeopardy provision of the 5th amendment nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb;  is not doing Zimmerman a lot of good right now.  Strictly speaking, he does not face a death sentence nor will any of his limbs be severed as a legal penalty.

It occurs to me that the Bill of Rights did nothing to curtail the power to tax nor the power to regulate commerce granted in the original seven articles.

In the early 80's a fellow told me that there were holes in the constitution big enough to drive a truck through them.  At the time, I knew nothing at all about the document.  My intense study did not begin until the late 1980's.  Only in the past couple of years have I begun to see those holes . . .

I hated it when that guy was right!
