This gives the impression that everybody was one happy family in Syria.  Not so, but Assad had been enough of a strongman to stop sectarian violence until a few years ago.  Now Muslim factions are busy killing each other as well as Christians.  And there are virtually no Jews left; most left years ago after decades of abuse.
