Department of Homeland Security Extends REAL ID Deadline to 2016

• http://thelibertybeat.com, Derrick Broze
The Department of Homeland Security has announced an extension to the remaining states who have yet to implement the REAL ID. The DHS stated, “”The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will continue to accept driver’s licenses and state-issued identification cards from all jurisdictions until at least 2016.” The national identification card has been accepted by 41 states so far, Mississippi recently signing on. The federal agency warned that residents of non-compliant states will either obtain alternative proofs of identification or give up access to federal facilities and commercial flying.
