Houston City Council to Vote on RideSharing Services

The companies allow customers to request rides via smartphone apps and currently are not subject to the same fees as traditional taxis. In recent weeks the issue has been tabled numerous times, with heated debate coming from both sides. Taxi cab drivers and supporters have flooded City Hall in yellow shirts asking City Council to impose similar fees and regulations on the ridesharing companies. If the measure is not tabled again a vote will take place Wednesday morning.
