On October 9 the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold a public meeting on Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies. The Commission will host a panel which will examine Bitcoin and the possible creation of a derivatives market for the popular crypto-currency. The CFTC is an independent federal agency that regulates futures and options markets.
