Jaywalking Tickets; Keeping You Safe After You Safely Cross the Road (VIDEO)

• CopBlock

I assume that the police, who were shadowing us that night, pointed out our parking spots to the store manager after they contacted police because another CopBlocker was open carrying on their property. Seems the store manager didn't know about open carry laws, but didn't waste the moment by instructing police to have us move our vehicles. They could have just asked us ourselves.

While on my way back to the Speedway the cars at the intersection were at a red light. Since there was minimal traffic coming from the turn lanes, I cut across the road about 20 feet from the cross walk. As I got into the Speedway parking lot, a Columbus Police SUV came racing into the parking lot (which, IMO, was more dangerous to others than me crossing the road). The officer quickly jumped out and demands my ID because I had just 'jaywalked.' I stated that I'm 32 years old and I know how to safely cross the road but that didn't matter to the officer, because logic rarely works on such types, and he started to write me a ticket.
