The festival will be headlined by mainstream rapper Kanye West, pop act Florence and the Machine - who replaced rockers The Foo Fighters after their frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg on stage - and rock legends The Who.

Thousands had queued as Glastonbury's famous Worthy Farm venue opened its gates at 8am today and it is expected to be attended by 135,000 people.

The people who arrived already will have to wait until tomorrow lunchtime for the event's first act - Hamish, Isla and Brother - to play the Rabbit Hole stage.

Tomorrow, ten of the festival's 21 stages will host a performance, and there will also be movies on at the Pilton Palais cinema.
