Incredible New Drone Footage Shows The Abandoned Fukushima Wasteland

As we noted last week with the Chernobyl disaster that occurred in 1986, the abandoned nuclear fallout zone has been retaken by nature, and recent drone footage from Fukushima shows another place where time has completely frozen.

Photographer Arkadiusz Podniesinski published the following video, and a series of photos through The Guardian, showing what the Fukushima area looks like now that it is uninhabited.

The photos and video below show scenes of abandoned cars in traffic, entirely overgrown with grass and leaves. You can also see ghost towns with broken down buildings and businesses, and everything pretty much the same as it was left years ago, aside from the obvious wear and tear.
