When it comes to New York's Republican primary, only one of Donald Trump's children residing in the state will be able to vote for him: Donald Jr. That's because Eric and Ivanka Trump failed to register as Republicans by the state's deadline last October.

Asked on Monday if those rules are unfair, Trump shrugged off the fact that two of his offspring won't get to vote for him come April 19.

"No. They had a longtime register and they were, you know, unaware of the rules, and they didn't, they didn't register in time," he said in a telephone interview on "Fox & Friends." "So they feel very, very guilty."

He continued, "They feel very guilty. But it's fine. I understand that. I think they have to register a year in advance and they didn't. So Eric and Ivanka, I guess, won't be voting."

"Are you cutting off their allowance?" co-host Steve Doocy joked.

"Yes. No more allowance," Trump responded.
