Gun Rights Advocates Up In Arms Over Police Firearm Buyback Allowed On Facebook

Many individuals are up-in-arms after the Miami police decided to initiate a gun buyback that they are promoting on Facebook. The social media corporation refuses to take down the video after it has been reported numerous times, which gun rights advocates claim is blatant hypocrisy.

"Our ongoing gun buyback program gives citizens the opportunity to turn in any unwanted firearms or any firearms they might have inherited but don't know what to do with them," City of Miami Police Lt. Freddie Cruz said in the video. "Our gun buybacks are a great opportunity to take some guns off the street and out of the hands of criminals that might use them to commit numerous types of crimes."

The city of Miami is offering a minimum $50 gift card for unwanted firearms but would give up to $250 for an AR-15 or an AK-47 style rifle. Michigan Attorney Nicholas Somberg, a staunch 2nd Amendment defender who has prominently defended controversial open carry activists in the court of law, believes that Facebook should remove this post as it is a solicitation for firearms and a clear violation of their terms of service.

"We already know Facebook shows favoritism to leftist ideas but now it is clear they also have a double standard when it comes to how Facebook treats government users and everybody else," Somberg said.
