Saudi Arabia has unveiled plans for the world's longest, tallest and fastest rollercoaster which will reach speeds of 155mph at a new theme park in the desert.

The Falcon's Flight is one of the 'record-smashing' rides that will feature at Six Flags Qiddiya near Riyadh.

Footage released by the Al-Qudiya Project shows a four-carriage, 16-seat rollercoaster which looks like a robot version of the bird it is named after.

There are also huge loops during the experience, as well as incredible views across the canyon as the carriage weaves through rocky terrain.

It will outpace the current record holder Formula Rossa in Abu Dhabi, which reaches 150mph in five seconds.

Michael Reininger, Chief Executive Officer of Qiddiya Investment Company, said: 'Our vision is to make Six Flags Qiddiya a theme park that delivers all the thrills and excitement that audiences from all over the world have come to expect from the Six Flags brand, and to elevate those experiences with authentic themes connected to the location, according to Saudi Gazette.
