Are High-Speed Trains Finally Coming To The United States?

150 years ago the United States was one of the first countries in the world to develop trains and open the nation up with them. The West was won, integrated, and populated in large part due to trains. But in the Twentieth Century, passenger trains largely became obsolete due to cars and aircraft. Other places in the world pushed ahead with high-speed trains and bullet trains, while American passenger trains took a back seat and are still slowly poking along the tracks.
