Conformity vs. Obedience - Zimbardo and Milgram

• Daniel Storage - YouTube.com

In this video, we'll discuss conformity, compliance, and obedience, and we'll specifically look at several classic—although ethically questionable—studies that revealed a great deal about these social processes.

Conformity: The tendency for people to alter behavior in response to group pressures, even when disagreeing with the group.

Confederate: A trained, undercover experimenter who pretends to be a regular participant (but actually isn't).

Compliance: Going along with a request or demand, even if you do not agree with it.
