Elon Musk has surprised political observers by endorsing former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the city's high-profile mayoral election. 

In a post on X, Musk urged voters to support Cuomo.

"Remember to vote tomorrow in New York!" he wrote. "Bear in mind that a vote for Curtis is really a vote for Mumdumi or whatever his name is. VOTE CUOMO!" 

The message immediately drew attention on X.

Cuomo, who governed New York from 2011 to 2021, faces a crowded and competitive field, including conservative candidate Curtis Sliwa and progressive challenger Zohran Mamdani.
