WHAT? Trump Says Mamdani Wants to Deport Criminal Illegals "Maybe More Than I Do"...
• by Jordan ConradsonPresident Trump on Friday revealed after meeting with New York City Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani, a self-avowed Democratic Socialist, that they are going to work together to remove criminal illegal aliens and get"horrible people" out of New York City.
It is unclear if this means Mamdani will comply with federal efforts to deploy ICE or National Guard troops in New York City to remove dangerous criminals and illegals from the streets.
It also does not appear likely that Zohran will comply with deportations of illegal aliens who have not been convicted of a crime but are still living in the country illegally and should be deported.
Last week, the New York Post reported, "Mamdani has promised to resist removals of even of violent-criminal illegal immigrants; he calls ICE a 'rogue' agency and vows to stop it from enforcing the law with deportations, using use his power as mayor 'to reject Donald Trump's fascism.'"
Perhaps he changed his tune after meeting with President Trump.
Asked by Newsmax's Mike Carter about their differences on ICE, Trump told reporters that they discussed safety in New York "at great length, actually, maybe more than anything else."
"We're going to work together. We're going to make sure that if there are horrible people there, we want to get them out," Trump said.
"I think he wants to get them out, maybe more than I do, so we'll work together. We discussed it at great length."
Mamdani could be seen nodding in agreement with the President.
WATCH:
Carter: You both have differences when it comes to ICE agents in New York City. Mr. Mamdani, you called ICE a rogue government entity. I wonder how you reconcile your differences on both of those issues.
