Stern warning- President Donald Trump threatened Venezuela's new leader with an outcome worse than Nicolas Maduro if she does not "do what's right." Trump seems to be taking a harder approach to socialist Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, whom he said he preferred as Maduro's successor rather than Maria Corina Machado, the opposition leader. Trump warned Rodriguez in an interview with The Atlantic that if she 'doesn't do what's right, she is going to pay a very big price, probably bigger than Maduro." Rodriguez, who also serves as the minister for finance and oil, slammed Maduro's arrest, calling for his "immediate release," and the capture as 'an atrocity that violates international law." 'We call on the peoples of the great homeland to remain united, because what was done to Venezuela can be done to anyone,' she commented after the US military operation. "That brutal use of force to bend the will of the people can be carried out against any country." Maduro is currently in a New York federal jail after being captured and indicted by US authorities on drug trafficking charges on Saturday. The indictment against Maduro accuses him of leading a "corrupt, illegitimate government that, for decades, has leveraged government power to protect and promote illegal activity, including drug trafficking." US authorities allege Maduro partnered with 'some of the most violent and prolific drug traffickers and narco-terrorists in the world' to bring cocaine into North America. Trump said the United States would govern Venezuela indefinitely; however, Rodriguez did not seem to share the same sentiment. Trump also shared his thoughts on plans surrounding taking over Greenland. 'We do need Greenland, absolutely,' Trump told the outlet. The comments on Greenland come after Katie Miller's, the wife of Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff, Steven Miller, controversial post, seemingly calling for the US to take Greenland over. Miller, a conservative podcaster, posted a map of the Danish territory covered by the American flag and simply wrote 'SOON.'
