First Lady Melania Trump delivered an unexpected announcement yesterday at the White House, explaining that she never had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein or his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell. In a speech lasting less than six minutes, the First Lady called out those who have tied her to the deceased pedophile, claiming accusers are "devoid of ethical standards, humility, and respect."

In an attempt to clear the air, Mrs. Trump referenced an October 2002 email she sent to Maxwell, which read, "Dear G! I How are you? Nice story about JE [Jeffrey Epstein] in NY mag. You look great on the picture. I know you are very busy flying all over the world. How was Palm Beach? I cannot wait to go down. Give me a call when you are back in NY. Have a great time! Love, Melania."

Addressing the correspondence directly, Mrs. Trump stated that "My email reply to Maxwell cannot be categorized as anything more than casual correspondence. My polite reply to her email doesn't amount to anything more than a trivial note."

Not a Victim
"I am not Epstein's victim," she continued, explaining that the disgraced financier did not introduce her to Donald Trump but rather that the couple met by "chance at a New York City party in 1998." She did meet Epstein in 2000, she said, but had no clue about his sex trafficking of minors or any criminal activity.

Stressing her lack of involvement in the scandal, the first lady doubled down: "I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant, was never on Epstein's plane, and never visited his private island. I have never been legally accused or convicted of a crime in connection with Epstein's sex trafficking, abuse of minors, and other repulsive behavior."
