18,300 signatures submitted in effort to oust Sen. Pearce
• Capitol Media ServicesMesa Republican Mary Lou Boettcher said part the push to oust Pearce relates to his active role in laws aimed at illegal immigrants, including punishing companies that hire them and giving police more power to detain and arrest them. But Boettcher said that's only part of the picture.

This recall effort was a waste of time and money. I lived in Russell Pearce's district for 5 years. I interacted with him regularly when I was involved in Mesa politics. He is an upstanding individual and one of the most pro-liberty legislators in the state. So, one must ask, why are libertarians lining up against him? Obviously because they buy into the left's politically correct nonsense calling into question their support of liberty overall while delving into their weird conspiracies about Pearce wanting to enact Real ID making him out to be a control freak (which he most certainly is not).
The candidate they put him up against will be trounced as his district is heavily Republican and there will not be a contender strong enough to oust him. Pearce is popular in Mesa and he has a solid base. To help take the wind out of the sails of the left's effort to silence him for sticking to his guns I look forward to donating to Pearce's campaign to help him retain his seat.
