"There are more and more fish swimming up the Seine," said Bernard Breton, a top official at France's National Federation for Fishing.
"This year the numbers have exceeded anything we could have imagined: I would not be surprised if we had passed the 1,000 mark," he told AFP by phone.
An international team of scientists with divergent views on ocean ecosystems has found that efforts to rebuild many of the world's fisheries are worthwhile and starting to pay off in many places around the world. Their study puts into perspective recent reports predicting a total collapse of global fisheries within 40 years.
States maintains the third fastest growth rate in the world behind China and
India. They suffer with 1.3 and 1.1
billion people already, but add eight and 12 million respectively each
year! The U.S. adds 3.4 million annually.
Projections show the U.S. adding 100 million in 26 years. Stuff that into your entitlement
bong and smoke it!
Congress and the Administration have an
opportunity to address immigration reform in the broader context of America’s
population. If they choose to do otherwise, expect another 100 million
Americans to be joining us very soon.”
to learn more about one of the most glaring examples of waste and
environmental pollution on earth, a group of scientists will set sail
from San Francisco today to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a massive
vortex of floating plastic trash estimated by some researchers to be
twice the size of Texas.
The bobbing debris field, where currents
swirl everything from discarded fishing line to plastic bottles into
one soupy mess, is located about 1,000 miles west of California.
is a problem that is kind of out of sight, out of mind, but it is
having devastating impacts on the ocean. I felt we needed to do
something about it," said Mary Crowley, co-founder of Project Kaisei, a
nonprofit expedition that is partnering on the voyage with the Scripps
Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla.
Crowley — a Sausalito
resident who owns a yacht chartering company, Ocean Voyages — has been

Dale Vitt, professor and chair of the Department of Plant Biology in the College of Science, is working with Syncrude, a joint venture of oil and gas companies mining the oil sands in Alberta. The project - part experimental research, part environmental remediation - involves turning gigantic open sand pits created by the extraction process into a rolling, lush landscape.
While land reclamation has long been a common practice among mining companies in North America, Vitt says no one has attempted a project of this magnitude.
Our new boy on the poster, Sen Charles Grassley of Iowa, doesn’t have
the worst overall record of Repubs or Dems but he has, by virtual of
his longevity in Congress, reached a position where he has been able to
influence enactment of some of the most damaging legislation to our
freedoms and well-being. The ethanol disaster is one and now, Obama’s
plan to take over healthcare has Grassley in position to enable Obama’s
power grab. He’s working on a “compromise” that he says won’t concede
the entire health care system of the USA to the State –just a part of
what is left in the free market. Government already controls about half
of healthcare through Medicare and other federal programs. Where is
THAT in the US Constitution? Who benefits from a FedGov command of
health care for each and every one of us commoners? Note that all of
the plans offered so far by the Obama regime exempts royalty --federal
officials and Congress-- from the restrictions and regulations.
comes down to this: Each "representative" that voted to pass Cap and
Trade has violated their Congressional Oath of Office to "well and
faithfully discharge the duties of the office." How on earth can
you--in good faith--fulfill the duties of the office by voting to pass
1500 pages of legislation YOU HAVEN'T READ?!
So here's my own
personal Oath: I do hereby solemnly swear to remove from office every
representative who thinks it's ok to pass 1500 pages of ill-conceived
legislation without knowing what's in it.
Seriously. The gloves are coming off. Who's with me?
As he rode along with a very confused Billy Crystal,
Palance, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, said, “You know what the
secret of life is?” Crystal said,
“What?” Palance raised his finger
saying, “This!” Crystal said, “Your
finger?” Palance said, “One thing, just
one thing…you stick to that and everything else don’t mean shit.” Crystal said, “That’s great, but what’s the
one thing?” Palance said, “That’s what
you gotta’ figure out.”
Global warming is based 100% on junk science. The most vocal promoters
are not interested in the details of physical science. They are
interested in two things: political control over the general public and
the establishment of international socialism.
Most important: “US Sustainable Population
Policy” and “US Sustainable Immigration Policy of 100,000 Annually”. Hint: legal and illegal immigration constitute the main
population-drives creating our environmental and demographic nightmare.
As the USA population is now firmly under One-Party rule, it becomes even more essential that the truth is disseminated to the people—for as long as will be allowed. Scientists have been opposing the global warming hype since it was first introduced by the United Nations and, then, former US VP Al Gore.
These scientists were then threatened with the loss of both their jobs and credibility if they continued to speak out against the fraudulent concept; a concept that was brought to bear so that “wealthy” Western populations (most specifically the USA) could be relieved of their money via new and prohibitive taxation.....
The Rhine river between Germany and the Netherlands is on average three degrees warmer than 100 years ago, with power stations the main culprits, the German green group BUND said on Tuesday.
According to a study commission by BUND, this stretch of the river is warmed two degrees Celsius by waste water pumped in by industry and by nuclear and coal-fired power plants
And then what does that mean? Let's go to the bill and look at the penalties. Because there are actually civil penalties in this bill. We're actually creating a global warming police. To page 235: "The Secretary may set and collect reasonable inspection fees to cover the costs of inspections required." So number one, they can come in, the federal government can come in and inspect your house and send you the bill. And if they find that you're out of compliance with this new federal code, "The Secretary shall assess a civil penalty for violations of this section." And then further to page 236: "Each day of unlawful occupancy shall be considered a separate violation." We're setting up a global warming gestapo that can literally come in and now this new term, "unlawful occupancy." Now living in your home is considered unlawful under this bill.
The Competitive Enterprise Institute today is demanding that the Environmental Protection Agency allow public comment on an internal global warming report that the agency itself suppressed.
CEI is submitting the report to the EPA and formally requesting that EPA re-open the comment period on its so-called “endangerment proceeding,” so the public can comment on both the report and on EPA’s conduct. EPA’s official comment period ended June 23.
Today’s actions follow CEI’s release of internal EPA emails a week ago that demonstrated the agency cover-up, followed by a draft version of the report released last Thursday. A day later, the author of the report was given permission by the agency to release the final report but only on his own website.
The study confirmed what scientists have long observed: that low precipitation and high temperatures dry out fuels and result in significant fire years, a pattern that dominates the northern and mountainous portions of the West. But it also provided new insight on the relationship between climate and fire, such as Western shrublands’ and grasslands’ requirement for high precipitation one year followed by dry conditions the next to produce fuels sufficient to result in large wildfires.
The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) has done an excellent job of exposing a major cover-up at the EPA regarding a study on global warming because it conflicts with the agenda of the current administration and its Cap and Trade legislation.
Below you will find an excellent summary of the attempted cover-up of the evidence that we are experiencing global cooling, not warming, gutting the argument for the horrendous “cap and trade” bill. Incredibility, CEI has also released internal emails between Al McGartland, Office Director of EPA’s National Center for Environmental Economics (NCEE), to Alan Carlin, Senior Operations Research Analyst at NCEE, forbidding him from speaking to anyone outside NCEE on endangerment issues. Mr. McGartland’s emails demonstrate that he was rejecting Mr. Carlin’s study because its conclusions ran counter to EPA’s proposed position. Don’t take my word for it, the evidence is here......
Those of us who have actually taken the time to do the research fully understand global warming is a monstrous hoax against the world. Master of hustle and bull, Al Gore, has cleaned house promoting global warming. It has been his cash cow to an estimated $100 million dollars into his bank account. Usurper, Obama/Soetoro, believes the propaganda, too: Scientists: Obama document is 'scare' tactic.
praised the energy bill passed by the House late last week as
an “extraordinary first step,” but he spoke out against a provision
that would impose trade penalties on countries that do not accept
limits on global warming pollution.
A team of MIT scientists recorded a nearly simultaneous world-wide
increase in methane levels -the first increase in ten years. What
baffles the team is that this data contradicts theories stating humans
are the primary source of increase in greenhouse gas. It takes about
one full year for gases generated in the highly industrial northern
hemisphere to cycle through and reach the southern hemisphere.
The House narrowly passed an ambitious climate bill that
would establish national limits on greenhouse gases, create a complex
trading system for emission permits and provide incentives to alter how
individuals and corporations use energy.
Since this is such a high priority issue for the Obama administration,
it's amazing that the margin was this thin. Incredibly, 44 Democrats
voted against the legislation. That would not have happened without
[a little late] A day after President Obama threw his support
behind the American Clean Energy and Security Act, one of the world’s
most prominent environmental advocacy organizations has come out in
strong opposition to the bill, which is set to go to a full vote on the
House floor as early as Friday.
Emissions from a large sector of the U.S. economy, including power
plants, factories and auto tailpipes, will be required to be cut 17
percent below their 2005 levels by 2020, and 83 percent below those
levels by 2050.
California regulators delayed a decision on whether to
implement the nation's first statewide carbon fee on utilities, oil
refineries and other polluting industries. [100% of which would pass onto consumers.]
The House has set the stage for a historic vote on hotly contested legislation to combat global warming and overhaul U.S. energy policy.
The House Rules Committee cleared the bill for floor action early Friday after working through most of the night.
