Frankly, I'm dubious as to the timing of these mass killings, which seem to coincide with the rise of liberal politicians in Congress and the White House. The subject of Gun Control is nothing new in the liberal camp, but the subject of investigating the dramatic increase of mass killings, along with the motivations of the killers is quietly ignored.  Hurricane Sandy is an example of liberal political grandstanding.  It wasn't even at hurricane strength when it made landfall, yet liberals are claiming authority over all aspects of the data, while ignoring the fact that storms unrelated to hurricanes occur in that region causing equal or greater damage.  Liberals sieze upon sensational events to dramatize their agendas, projecting an aura of vindication and smug assuredness that NOW everyone must subscribe to their 'solutions', and anyone who confronts them with alternative explanations or mitigations can be attacked mercilessly by media and political opponents. (The NRA Honcho being the latest example)  

I would examine closely the minutia of these events at Sandy Hook and other locales to determine what underlying mental, financial, marital or other factors preceded the killings.
