What people need to realize is that the United States Government is not the same Government as the United States of America that George Washington and the gang put together back in the late 1700s. Rather, it is a Federal Corporation, incorporating the land of the District of Columbia into something similar to a Federal State.

The culprit amendment that allowed this to happen was the 17th Amendment. Along with certain court rulings following the addition of the 17th Amendment, the people in Congress, and the President and S.C. (not South Carolina) Judges, were removed from office in George Washington's United States of America, and placed into office in the D.C. United States Corporation.

The original U. S. of A still exists on paper. In fact, it exists legally, perhaps even actively in some small ways. But there isn't anybody in its offices any longer. Why? Because nobody replaced the Government people who were moved into the D.C. U.S. by the 17th Amendment.

We, the People, don't understand about the 2 separate United States governing units. So when we say to the D.C. U.S. that we are citizens of the United States, talking about the U. S. of A. that George Washington set up, D.C. U.S. doesn't have any choice but to think that we are talking about the D.C. U.S. Corporation. And we, not knowing the difference, don't even realize that we have just made ourselves citizens of the District of Columbia, falling under all the laws in operation in D.C..

       The U.S. isn't likely to remain a country long enough to qualify as the "most brutal empire in history". We've been forced into a number of patently stupid actions and alliances by the fools we've allowed to represent us but, as a nation, we don't hold a candle to the historical scum of the earth who've preceeded us. In fact, with the exception of the collective ignorance and indifference of the Germans, especially in WWII, most "countries" (empires) were forced into their butchery and villianous ways by arrogant elitists and greedy cowards, not unlike those who pretend to lead the U.S.

     "Most brutal empire"? Read a history book...Any history book...Assuming you are literate.

 I think the United Kingdom has earned the title as most brutal !  They took more land and countries than we ever did.  I agree we are not the same country as in the time of Washington/Jefferson.  But we aren't the same country as we were in 1948 either !  We are worse !  Everything is political now, everything. Political correctness is destroying this nation.  Passiveness, liberalism, secualr progressives, communists, and Incorporated politicians is the scourge of society.  We need to go back to the time when Teddy Rooselvelt was president !  We could use another president like that !  Instead we get these pansy politicians who would rather shove flowers up their ass than fight for our rights and freedom !  If we must go to war, fight to win, don't make it political !  General George S. Patton said it best that politics has no place in war !  A political war cannot be won !
