Gun laws as a right to safety

• Christian Science Monitor OpEd
That was settled law until last week. Now there's a possibility that a more conservative Supreme Court might endorse this lower-court decision. If so, the justices will need to acknowledge that public safety requires regulation of firearms.

The Second Amendment states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The wording clearly applies to only the common defense, the high court ruled nearly 70 years ago, with a gun right grounded only in relation to state militias.

What the "old" S.C. failed to recognize is that ALL the people are the Militia. They focussed on the wrong thing - and we were duped by them.

It is obvious that the "Christian Science Monitor" is a sycophant of the New World Order, the UN, and our total un-resistable obedience to its cruel '1984' type, future dictators.
