This makes a very good point. Christmas is a make or break part of the year for many retail outfits. During a recession, Christmas is not going to be good for them. Those that are over extended will go broke afterwards. I expect a lot of places going broke afterwards ... Merry Christmas. Ho, ho, ho. If you are going to do what most people do and buy gift cards you take the chance that you are throwing your money (or your recipients money) away.
