Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac suspend some foreclosures

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the two biggest U.S. home loan finance companies, said they would suspend foreclosures of occupied homes until early 2009, as the government moves to stem the tide of home losses plaguing the economy.

So let's see if I have this right. The CONgress gives hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in bailout money to Fannie and Freddie. Ostensibly to get them back on the road to prosperity (making a profit and pay off their debt). CONgress, being the great money givers and the most brilliant businessmen imaginable then force these mortgage brokers to take those who are no longer paying their mortgage (and therefor providing increasing defaulting debt piling up on Freddie and Fannie) and instead of repossessing the home and trying to sell it to someone who WILL pay their debt, we let current "home owners" to enjoy the fruits of taxpayer largess.
