Ten Steps To Close Down an Open Society
• Naomi Wolf - Huffington PostIt is my argument that, beneath our very noses, George Bush (and now Obama) and his administration are using time-tested tactics to close down an open society. It is time for us to be willing to think the unthinkable - as the author and political journalist Joe Conason, has put it, that it can happen here. And that we are further along than we realise.
Conason eloquently warned of the danger of American authoritarianism. I am arguing that we need also to look at the lessons of European and other kinds of fascism to understand the potential seriousness of the events we see unfolding in the US.

I do agree that there is and has been an attack over the last fifty to sixty years against the masses of people. It has shown a stronger power in the last twenty years because the real administrators of government have been and still are a narrow group from the best few educational universities in this country.
The crack that they fear the most is the easily manipulated voter. The single individual who is willing to stand up to the crowd.
I suggest in 2010 we the middle Americans put the respect and fear into this two party system by showing we have the power up to twenty percent of the cast vote, to destroy the two party system.
As was shown by the "CHANGE O'MAN) THE INTERNET IS A POWERFUL TOOL. What is needed now is not more people who can show what is wrong but are willing to lead Middle America back to work, away from the ruling class and take back a government that is controled by less then a thousand people.
