In what could be the first climate-induced relocation of a country, the leaders of the low-lying archipelago of Kiribati plan to buy nearly 6,000 acres on Fiji in case rising tides force their entire population to
leave. Villagers have already seen seawater take over their homes, ruin crops and fresh water supplies and erode shorelines. The government is already trying to
educate young people to help them survive in "the new lands."
